The Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) between the Department of Biology, Faculty of Natural Science, National University of Laos, Lao PDR, and the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, USA, was signed on 21 January 2026.

- The applicant is required to share the research results and related publications with the local project partners and the Lao ABS Authority in order to acknowledge the resource providers.
- This permission applies only to the specific research described above.
- If further experiments on the resources, or the use of their digital sequence information (DSI), are intended for commercialization purposes, the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, USA, must inform the ABS Authority and the local partner to establish a new ABS Agreement.
- The applicant is also required to acknowledge the country of origin of the genetic resources when producing or using digital sequence information (DSI) derived from those resources.
The specimens collected, as described above, shall not be transferred to any third party without prior permission from the Lao ABS Authority and the local implementing partner in Lao PDR.
85 Specimens of Amphibians and Reptiles will be exported from Laos to the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, USA, for analysis by DNA sequencing.
